The objectives of the Association for Health Economics Research and Social Insurance and Welfare (ASIW) are manifold—to conduct investigative research related to health economics and the healthcare and long-term care systems of Japan; to foster researchers and promote research in the fields of health economics and healthcare policy; and to carry out programs that contribute to the advancement of public health and welfare for Japanese citizens. Through the above means the association aims to bring about the advancement of the healthcare and long-term care systems in Japan and the improvement of services related to healthcare and public health and welfare services. The ASIW also handles the management and collection of home loans for pensioners.
